Weekly Update / Seder Feast, Easter Pie & a note from Confesor
A Note from Confesor
As you might imagine, raising a large family can be challenging. Quite peaceful moments are rare and privacy even rarer. I am always amazed at how fast laundry can pile up when the washer goes down, of course from over use. I am also surprised by how quickly any room in our home can look like a war zone. But what is even more astonishing, with so many people available to interact with, is how quickly one of our crew can feel lost, disconnected, unloved and unimportant.
Our daughter Sage, “the balanced one,” couldn’t have been more than three years old when she found herself outside of one of our family huddles. I don’t recall what we were carrying on about, but whatever it was she wanted in on it. We did not immediately hear her pleas to break into our “inner circle,” so like any 3 year old her cries got louder and louder. I remember her elbowing her way in with her little body and with a very loud and commanding voice she yelled, “ME! LISTEN TO ME!”
We all immediately stopped, and all of our collective attention was on her. I lovingly picked her up until we were making eye contact and said, “We Hear You. We See You. We Love You!” In that instant she was back in the fold, and that day these words became our family mantra.
In last week's sermon, we learned that the Spirit groans in us, praying in us to God the Father. I also believe that He groans in us speaking words of life. Not just to minister to us directly, but to minister to others through us. This is powerful! Church, we have a Father in heaven who hears us, not just our external audible cries but also our deep internal cries. He sees us, meaning that he knows us completely and fully. He knows intimately every chromosome and every bit of DNA that is us. And He loves us in a logic defying way.
As we near Holy Week, hold onto these simple words. “God hears you! God sees you! God loves you!”

THE ONE MAN: Christ with Us and for Us
Confesor Martinez, Elder Candidate
God did not make us to face life alone. And he has not left us to face death alone. In Christ, he is with us and for us. No matter what may come, God hears us; God sees us; God loves us.
