Sunday May 28 Confession

Father, today we confess our ignorance to your Spirit and our disbelief in your promises.
We long to feel known and wanted, but we do not seek out your presence. Instead, we turn to things that can numb our pain and satisfy our immediate desires.

We read in your word that only our creator can meet us in our darkest places and heal our souls, but our hearts are too hardened to seek your face and enter into communion with you.
Search us this morning, Lord, and do not hide your face from us. Break our hearts with the knowledge of who you are and the love and salvation you extend to us daily.

The Lord our God draws near to us in our time of need. He rescues us from our selfish ways and covers our sin with his everlasting grace.
Blessed be the Lord, the God of our salvation. Let us sing to him and praise him for the work he has done and continues to do.

Today and for the rest of our days, we will dwell in the house of the Lord.
