Nov 15 2015 // Widen Your Hearts // 2 Corinthians 6:1-18
The Apostle Paul spent the early half of his life mastering respectability. He spent the latter half forfeiting what he had mastered, as the fruit of the Spirit led him to a cross. He is concerned for the Corinthians that they have received the grace of God in vain, refusing to live according to that grace, holding onto respectability. Paul pleads with the people of Corinth to widen their hearts, to abandon the self-preserving ways of this world, and receive the life of faith. For we are not graced by God so that we can go on living our independent lives unmolested. We are graced by God so that he might reside in us. He has made us his temple that we would know our father and commune with Him.
