THIS COMING SUNDAY
Pastor Mark Bergin
When we go to God in prayer, we often do so in search of understanding. We want him to inject clarity into all of the confusion that our circumstances can bring. Yet in prayer, God offers something even greater than understanding. He offers himself. In prayer, we rediscover where true peace is found. Not in the control that results from solving the riddles of life. But rather in the rest that results from communing with the Ruler of all things. Prayer is a kind encounter with the one who is God for us. It is how we remember that being our own gods is too great of a burden. What sweet relief it is to hand over the weight of lordship to the one who is Lord. What a precious gift to be able to face the riddles of life knowing he will sustain us. He will lift our heads. He will guard our hearts. He will give us peace that is beyond understanding.
